Which defects stop you having Perfect print?
DOT GAIN
An increase in dot size from the IMAGE to PRINTING PLATE to PRINT
SKIP OUT
Insufficient or missing ink transfer to the substrate of a part of the image.
MISREGISTER
The separate colours of the print are not correctly positioned.
MOTTLED PRINT
Mottled print is a common problem , when trying to print good quality consistent solids in flexo
PIN HOLING
The ink does not form complete coverage on the surface of print. Random small holes occur in the print.
FILLING IN
This is an accumulation of ink on the plate surface and shoulders of the printing images
DIRTY PRINT
Dirty and speckled print is a regular problem for flexo printers
BRIDGING
Separate dots in the screen area, connect to each other in an irregular way.
GEAR MARKS
Gear marks or Print Streaking is normally visible as a series of parallel mis-printed lines across the web
HALO
An unwanted halo forms around the edges or the print
FEATHERING
This is seen as uneven edges around the printed images, caused by ink build up.
DOUGHNUTS
The screen dots on the print are slurred or have a distorted effect.
