PRINTING PRESSURES
Flexo is a contact and pressure sensitive process. Increasing printing pressure influences ink transfer and has a significant impact on print quality and performance
CONTROL THE PRINTING PRESSURE = CONTROL THE QUALITY AND PRESS PERFORMANCE
So what are the factors that can cause changes in printing pressures during printing and cause defects such as Dot gain & Bridging?
Problems which can lead to changes of Printing pressure:
In correct or inconsistant plate caliper (thickness)
In correct or inconsistant mounting tape caliper (thickness)
Air bubbles in the printing form package (plate & tape)
Deviations in circumference, concentricity and parallism of the printing form
Changes in printing package thickness caused by wear or swelling by inks or cleaning solutions
Insufficient or too much ink from the anilox roll
Problems with ink transfer between ink chamber to anilox to printing form to substrate
